A new market intelligence reports indicates that Western European tablet shipments declined sharply in Q3 2021, with four out of five of the top brands seeing their year-on-year numbers fall by anywhere from 20% to 53%. Following the removal of Fortnite from the App Store last week, Epic Games has just announced a tournament in favor of the #FreeFortnite campaign against Apple. Players will be able to compete for prizes such as Android devices and Windows PCs. Epic is inviting Fortnite players to join in a worldwide tournament this Sunday, August 23, in protest of Apple’s decision to remove Fortnite from the iOS App Store. The gaming company will offer 1,200 non-Apple devices for “apple-eaters” in an attempt to promote other devices that can still run Fortnite....

You have to hand it to Everything Sucks!, Netflix’s new 90s-set coming-of-age dramedy from creators Ben York Jones and Michael Mohan: it is unafraid to be completely rapt with its sense of nostalgia. Like a number of his cult classic films, John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China is more appreciated today than it was when it released. In 1986, the film was panned by critics and was an overwhelming box office failure. Experts are warning of a potential flaw that could affect Mac users who still rely on Apple Time Capsules for backup. Facebook today announced that it is acquiring CTRL-labs, a New York-based startup developing technology that would allow humans to control computers using their brains. CNBC reports that the deal is valued at approximately $1 billion. As part of the acquisition, CTRL-labs will join Facebook’s Reality Labs division, which is also working on developing augmented reality glasses. Facebook’s vice president of AR/VR, Andrew Bosworth, confirmed the acquisition in a post, praising the CTRL-labs technology as opening up “new creative possibilities....
