Apple is preparing to make a major change to the Face ID repair process on iPhone 12 and newer, according to a new report. This change will allow Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers to repair Face ID without having to replace the entire iPhone itself. Face ID repairs are about to get easier As reported by MacRumors, Apple announced this change in an internal memo to employees. The company is giving authorized service technicians access to a new “TrueDepth Camera service part” that consists of the Face ID and front camera modules....

The popular Evernote productivity app was updated yesterday to offer the ability to customize the homescreen, view notes on a map and improvements to saved searches. Premium users can now change the order of the homescreen buttons, or remove altogether the ones you never use. Just hit the Edit button at the bottom of the screen. Users can also view notes in a map view or by tapping on the name of a location (handy for notes on particular places, probably less so for unrelated notes you happened to take in the back of a cab somewhere) and create and remove saves searches directly from the search results....

Ahead of the release of iOS 16 and macOS 13 Ventura this fall, Microsoft is simplifying Endpoint Manager enrollment. This effort will help IT administrators whose organizations use Apple devices. With Apple’s new Platform single sign-on (SSO) for macOS 13, users will only have to authenticate once on their devices. According to a Microsoft company post, the update allows the SSO extension to extend to the macOS login window. Update: Facebook has already killed off the feature, according to ABC News. Looks like it was just a little test. Facebook added another location feature to its iOS, Android, and mobile web apps this weekend. TechCrunch reported that Facebook’s engineers have shown off a new app on their mobile platform called “Find Friends Nearby.” It allows users to easily add each other on the social network. Find Friends Nearby also makes it easy for people at a certain location or event to fire up the app, and then quickly add each other, which gets rid of any need for having to search for names....
