A new clip from Escape Plan 2: Hades shows Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista getting into a messy gunfight. The original Escape Plan was sold on the long-awaited team-up between former action rivals Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The story featured Stallone’s security expert being dumped inside an “inescapable” prison and teaming up with Arnie’s wise convict to find a way out. While the movie was only a modest hit in North America, it did strong business overseas, leading to a sequel being greenlit in 2016.

Escape Plan 2: Hades features Stallone’s character putting together a team to break a friend out of another high-tech jail, one that forces inmates to fight each other to the death. His Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 co-star Dave Bautista takes over from Arnold on buddy duties this time, while 50 Cent reprises his role as a member of Stallone’s team. The production company obviously had faith in the sequel, since Escape Plan 3 has already been shot with both Stallone and Bautista returning.

Little was known about Escape Plan 2: Hades prior to the recent release of the first trailer, which showed the sequel would be much more action-packed and violent than its predecessor. Now a new clip from the film has appeared on IMDb, which shows Stallone and Bautista getting into a tense confrontation that leads to a firefight inside a bar. Sly also gets to cap off the scene with a cheesy one-liner.

Escape Plan feels like an odd choice for a franchise because while the original was an enjoyable thriller, it’s mostly been forgotten. That said, the movie did very well in international markets, and Stallone and Dave Bautista are bankable names, so with modest budgets and a recognizable brand, both Escape Plan 2: Hades and the upcoming third entry shouldn’t have much trouble returning a profit for producers.

Co-star 50 Cent has also said he’s curious to see how the movie performs. Escape Plan 2: Hades is essentially heading straight to DVD in North America, but it will play in theaters in the UK. Given that both movies were essentially shot back to back, it probably won’t be long before the third film is released too. Escape Plan 3: The Devil’s Station finds Stallone’s team once again breaking into a huge prison to rescue the daughter of a businessman, and the movie was shot in the same jail that was used for The Shawshank Redemption.
