Warning: This post contains minor SPOILERS for Black Panther.

T’Challa is returning for Avengers: Infinity War, but he’s not the only character from Black Panther appearing in the 2018 team-up film. Anthony and Joe Russo’s Avengers 3 culminates the past 10 years of storytelling and marks the beginning of the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first saga. So, naturally, virtually every major character that’s appeared in any one of the MCU’s 18 movies thus far are slated to return for the film, including quite a few people from Black Panther.

First off, Chadwick Boseman is definitely reprising his role as T’Challa, aka Black Panther, for Avengers: Infinity War. As one of the most important characters in the MCU, Black Panther plays an integral role in Avengers 3, especially with regard to Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes’ stories. It will be Boseman’s third time playing the superhero after making his first appearance as T’Challa in the Russos’ Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and then reprising his role for Black Panther this month.

Considering that T’Challa rules over an entire nation and relies heavily on his family for aide and support, not only in personal matters but in national security matters as well. That’s why Angela Bassett will be returning for Infinity War as Wakanda’s Queen Mother Ramonda alongside Letitia Wright, who plays Bassett’s on-screen daughter (and T’Challa’s sister), Shuri. Seeing Shuri interact with Tony Stark is high on most people’s lists. Plus, Marvel’s Science Bros can always use another member. Of course, as Black Panther proves, T’Challa can’t go anywhere without his most trusted general and ally, Okoye, played by Danai Gurira.

In Black Panther, M’Baku (Winston Duke) became an unwilling ally of T’Challa’s due respect and, above all, self-preservation (or, really, the preservation of his people, the Jabari Tribe). The Jabari fought alongside their fellow Wakandans for the first time in centuries to defend the nation from outsiders. And they will be doing the same in Infinity War, as evidenced by the film’s trailer. Another person (technically) from Black Panther that’s reappearing in Avengers 3 is Bucky (Sebastian Stan)… but everyone knew that (thanks in no small part to Black Panther’s post-credits scene). But, what people may not have known is that Black Panther reboots Bucky for Infinity War.

Since Black Panther is the final movie to release prior to Infinity War hitting theaters, it makes sense that more than a few actors and actresses will be reprising their role in the film. But, as the first Avengers 3 trailer pointed out, it goes deeper than that; an integral part of the movie takes place in Wakanda. T’Challa and M’Baku’s armies are seen charging into battle alongside Hulk, Falcon, War Machine, Black Widow, Captain America, and the Winter Soldier (or is it just Bucky now?). In fact, there are two scenes of Wakanda’s armies preparing for a fight. Considering what’s known about the film so far, it’s understandable why quite a few characters from Black Panther are in Avengers: Infinity War.
