We have exclusive images of Fear the Walking Dead which offer a taste of what to expect from season 4 of the spinoff series, including the debut of Morgan (Lennie James), the much-anticipated crossover character from The Walking Dead.
With a number of character deaths in season 3, fans can expect to see a very different cast when Fear the Walking Dead returns in April. Over the course of a single season, the series lost both Travis (Cliff Curtis) and Ofelia (Mercedes Mason), as well as all of the newly-added series regulars, leaving us with the core cast of the Clark family, Strand (Colman Domingo), and Salazar (Ruben Blades). Luciana (Danay Garica), who left the group early in season 3, will return as a series regular. Fans will see several new faces as the series picks up after a substantial time jump.
Screen Rant has four exclusive photos of the upcoming season, including photos of Morgan, Luciana, and the new character played by Lost’s Maggie Grace. Fans can see Morgan sitting on the side of a road carrying his trademark stick and Maggie Grace’s character sitting behind the wheel of what appears to be a military vehicle. We also get a glimpse of Nick (Frank Dillane), Madison (Kim Dickens), and Luciana making plans. The fourth and final photo gives us a look at a group of what could be the nastiest looking zombies we’ve ever seen on the show. Zombies on Fear generally aren’t as rotted as the zombies on The Walking Dead, since Fear began with the start of the zombie apocalypse.
The photo of Luciana is the most telling, as it shows that Nick will soon reunite with Madison. When we last saw the characters, the dam was destroyed and the group was separated by the current. Madison awoke on the shore alone. Somehow, Madison or another member of the group will cross paths with Morgan, who will depart The Walking Dead at some point this season. It’s hard to say where this new storyline will take place in Morgan’s life, but we do know that this happens after Morgan learns Akido, considering that he’s carrying his stick. It’s been suggested that the time jump will take us far enough into the future to allow season 4 to be a “continuation” of Morgan’s journey.
Aside from Morgan and Maggie Grace’s character, fans will soon get to meet other new series regulars, including Garret Dillahunt and Jenna Elfman. For fans of both shows, it will be interesting to see how these new characters will affect the Clark family, especially Morgan. Morgan has experienced a great deal of character development on The Walking Dead, having gone from a father to a bloodthirsty killer, to a pacifist, and a now a warrior consumed by a need for revenge. The Morgan we meet in season 4 of Fear will likely depend on the outcome of his crusade against Negan and the Saviors.
